Duration: 3 years
Maximum 6 years
Objectives:
- To provide broad training in the fundamentals of biotechnology and offers students advanced training in various specialized fields of biotechnology.
- The program includes involvement of local and international universities, organizations and biotech companies.
- To produce internationally competitive researchers who can make significant contributions to the field of biotechnology.
- To develop skills required to undertake scientific projects of international standards.
Eligibility:
- A candidate seeking admission to the PhD program must have a master degree at least 60% marks or
2.75 CGPA in biotechnology, biological science, life science, microbiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or plant biology from a recognized university.
- The candidate has to complete a course work of 6-8 credit hours during the first year of research work.
The course work may be in form of subjects, attending classes/practical, seminars or self-study which will be suggested by the DAC (Doctoral Advisory Committee).If candidate has already done such courses at MSc level then they will be exempted from taking such courses.
Duration of program:
- The duration of the program will be from the time of registration to submission of thesis. The minimum
duration for the full-time internal or external candidates shall be 3-years from date of registration and maximum duration shall not exceed 6 years will be based on the recommendation from the Doctoral Advisory Committee (DAC).
